walls of hope

The use of imagery and color can affect the way a person feels. Studies show that therapeutic murals in hospitals provide holistic healing to any child who is about to be examined or given treatment. The presence of these colorful murals is also a powerful way of relieving stress and easing the hearts and minds of its visitors.

A number of people who have visited the Philippine Children's Medical Center have been, in one way or another, inspired by the wall murals found around the hospital (i.e. the story of Munting Patak-ulan). However, most of the paintings have already deteriorirated or have been lost due to time.

Join us as we bring hope to more children through the restoration and improvement of PCMC's wall paintings.

Walls of Hope. WOHoo!
Mon Nov 2

Hi! This is Ella, one of the proponents of the restoration of the wall paintings in PCMC. My best friend, Mai, visited the hospital recently and saw that some of the murals needed repainting.

This place has a special spot in a lot of people’s hearts. We all have vivid childhood memories of walking around the hospital and finding hope in the murals and the stories written for the kids by Filipino writers. I, myself, love walking around the hospital with my mom as we look for the cafeteria to eat breakfast. Haha! XD

We can make this happen. I’m certain that we can do this. :D Think of this as a big contribution in making the lives of the kids coming in and out of this hospital, extra colorful. Let us be the rainbows to their rain. :D

COMING SOON: Volunteer and donation information. :)
